Christian and I are currently dogsitting for my parents’ dog Riley, who is BFF with our dog, Callie. While it makes for “SUPER FUN TIMES” for the dogs, it often makes for a crazy day for us. Here’s an example of…
A day in the life of Riley and Callie
4 a.m. Intruder alert! Someone is daring to enter our territory (front porch) holding a weapon of some sort (newspaper). Bark incessantly.
4:10 a.m. Stop barking because Christian says to stop. Why does he look so tired? Why doesn’t he want to play???
6:15 a.m. Start barking again (Because it’s fun!).
6:30 a.m. Lindsay FINALLY gets out of bed. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6:31 a.m. Begin eating breakfast.
6:32 a.m. Finish eating breakfast.
6:33 a.m. Go outside. Sniff, eat birdseed, etc.
6:45 a.m. Come inside and PLAY! (Intermittently sit quietly when Lindsay gives stern look.)
8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Wait for a) more food b) people to play with c) intruders to bark at
12 p.m. – 1 p.m. YAY!!!! Christian is here to play with us!!!! Find scrap of what used to be a toy and parade around the house with it.
1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Wait for a) more food b) people to play with c) intruders to bark at
5:31 p.m. FOOD!!!!!
5:32 p.m. Food is GONE!!!! How did that happen???
5:33 p.m. Go outside. Sniff, eat birdseed, etc.
5:35 p.m. – Bedtime: Play. Emit aroma. Play. Emit aroma.
Bedtime: Fall asleep immediately.
What fun dogs you have there. Sounds like “never a dull moment” and it somehow sounds quite familiar!
so glad they’re having a good time.
